Collagen support
Unlike traditional filler that only adds immediate volume, Sculptra and Radiesse are used to stimulate your body's own collagen.
Long-lasting approach
Biostimulators works over time, making them a great option for patients looking for longer-term facial rejuvenation.
Sculptra vs Radiesse
Sculptra timulates your own collagen for gradual, natural-looking volume that builds over months and lasts 2+ years. Radiesse delivers immediate lift plus ongoing collagen stimulation — ideal for sculpting the jawline, chin, or cheeks, with results lasting 12-15 months
Sculptra is ideal for treating:

Cheeks / Midface / Jawline
Helps support facial volume and structure
Nasolabial Folds
Can help soften the appearance of deeper smile lines as facial support improves.
Temples
Can improve hollowing and create a softer, more balanced appearance.

Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) — it doesn't fill space directly. Instead, it stimulates your own collagen production gradually over weeks to months. Results build slowly (you won't see the full effect for 6-8 weeks, sometimes longer) but last up to 2+ years. It's ideal for overall facial volume loss, "global" rejuvenation, and treating larger areas like cheeks, temples, and even body areas (buttocks, décolletage). Requires the 5-5-5 massage protocol post-injection and usually multiple sessions spaced a month apart.
Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) — it provides immediate volumizing/lifting on injection AND stimulates collagen over time, so you get a dual effect: instant correction plus a biostimulatory tail. Results last about 12-15 months. It's denser and better for more targeted structural correction — jawline definition, chin projection, cheekbone contour, and hand rejuvenation. Lower dilution = more lift; higher dilution (often used off-label, like "skin boosting" techniques) = more diffuse collagen stimulation.
Sculptra: little to no visible change at first, with results building gradually starting around 6-8 weeks, full effect often 3-6 months in (sometimes longer, since it's collagen-dependent).
Radiesse: immediate visible lift right after injection, with additional collagen-driven improvement continuing over the following 1-3 months.
Sculptra: 2+ years (some patients see results last even longer with maintenance).
Radiesse: 12-15 months typically.
Sculptra: typically 2-3 sessions, spaced about a month apart — collagen builds cumulatively, so multiple treatments get you to the full effect.Radiesse: usually 1 session gets you there, since it volumizes immediately. Some patients do a touch-up or add more for additional contouring.
Sculptra: minimal — some swelling, redness, or bruising at injection sites for a few days; you can do the 5-5-5 massage at home, no real activity restriction.
Radiesse: also minimal — mild swelling/bruising for a few days to a week; most people return to normal activities right away, though heavy exercise is often held off for 24-48 hours.
Sculptra: Yes — commonly used off-label for body areas like the buttocks (non-surgical "Sculptra BBL"), décolletage, and sometimes hands, in addition to facial volume loss.
Radiesse: Yes — FDA-approved for hand rejuvenation specifically (restoring volume to thinning, veiny hands), plus body use off-label for areas like knees and décolletage.
